Bantam Program
Bantams are primarily made up of players in 8th and 9th grade.
Eligibility: open to all players born between 06/01/2010 - 05/31/2012* that live in St. Louis Park.
*athletes entering 8th grade with summer 2012 birthdays are also eligible. Please contact the Bantam Coordinator to discuss.
2025-2026 Teams: SLPHA will host Bantam A, B2 & C teams.
**Please note that there will be additional registration fee for the top Bantam team to cover higher coaching staff and referee fees. You will have an opportunity to decline a top-team roster spot if you choose.
The additional fee is as follows:
- Bantam A: $300
Player Development
Athletes will receive 135+ hours of on-ice training over the course of the season. This includes games, 3 tournaments, team practices, and skills sessions. An end of season tournament in District 3 closes out the season. Teams participating at B1 or A will have an opportunity to play in Regions and possibly State.
The SLPHA Bantam Program builds off our Peewee Program. An increased emphasis of compete level and pace of play will be placed on players. Practices will be age appropriate with a concentration on skill development in the following buckets:
- 50% Skills: hockey skills & habits
- 35% Sense: concepts & awareness
- 15% Systems: team play and the addition of more team concepts and tactics.
