If you are interested in coaching, please complete this interest form at the first step. Once you hear from the level coordinator you can proceed with registration.
HOW DO I BECOME A COACH
St. Louis Park Hockey requires all coaches to meet all USA Hockey coaching requirements. You must have an appropriate Age Module, Complete Background Check and Safe Sport certificate completed to be eligible to attend any team events. CEP requirements must be complete before December 31st of the current season.

STEP 2: SLPHA Coach Registration
STEP 3: MN Hockey Background Screening
STEP 4: USA Hockey SafeSport Program Training
STEP 5: Online Age-Specific Modules
STEP 6: CDC Concussion Certification
STEP 7: USA Hockey CEP Training
If you have not completed all required steps you cannot be on the official USAH roster, on the ice, or behind the bench for an on-ice team event.
Additional Details
Required annually. Save your confirmation code / USA Hockey # for use in SLPHA coach registration.
Required annually. Once approved by the level coordinator, proceed with registration.
Required every two years. Screenings conducted by NCSI.
Required annually for ALL Coaches, Managers, Locker Room Volunteers, and Board Members. In some cases all that is required is a quick "refresher" course.
Required for EACH playing level you will be coaching. If you previously completed an online age specific module, you do not have to re-take that course.
Required Annually. Training received from other sports will satisfy the training required for this certification, pending proof of completion.
All coaches enter USA Hockey’s CEP training at Level 1, and must continue their education with a coaching clinic each year.
EXCEPTION: Coaches of Mite/8U or younger players may remain at Level 1 or their current level.

All ice hockey coaches and instructors must abide by the USA Hockey Coaching Ethics Code, and understand that violations may result in full or partial forfeiture of coaching privileges in programs, at sites or events under USA Hockey’s governance.
Lack of awareness or misunderstanding of an ethical standard is not itself a defense to a charge of unethical conduct.
